Chapter Chat week 8

 

This is the Chapter Chat I did with Jolie. We did Gertrude in a wedding dress as a disguise from the cops and an old lady that Gertrude nocked out and put her in a garbage can. We worked really well together and managed to get it drawn and sharpied. 

Case closed

 Today Mrs. Taaffe came into our classroom and confessed she committed the crime in team Whetu. We had evidence to back our questions up if we needed to.

On Sunday the 11th of October Mrs. Taaffe was at school picking up some paperwork but had originally set off the alarm before coming into our classroom to borrow the HDMI cord she didn't ask to use, she also stole a couple chocolates on the way out.  (18 CHOCOLATE MILKY WAY BARS)

We got evidence with the same size feet, pink scrunchie, and she was there when it happened, she went to the hairdressers and died her hair that day, and we found some of her same color hair stuck in the door she ran out of when trying to open the door and cut her right hand. But she said she will buy us another bag of Milkyway chocolates to make it up to us all.

                                  

Detective code breaker

 This is my think like a detective code breaker number 1 and 2. I Had to solve letters into words from down below and then make up my own code message for someone to try and figure out. Mine was Lily Is really cool for (1) and (2) was your a pro detective.

This is my wanted poster I did in a rotation setion with Mrs. Heaven and Mrs. Loft, we did mug shots of our selves When we get half of ourselves on a photo and we draw the other half like what you would look like. And it was so much fun/and this is what I looked like. 

Letter of the week C!!!

 This is my letter of the week. The letter was C and I worked all by myself. The hardest part was trying to figure out a word that ends with c, the best word I could come up with was Electronic it was a lot of fun but I liked the challenging parts of trying to figure out what sentence, photo, or word I would pick out next without copying someones beside me. 

Athletics Day

  Today we did athletics I participated in the 800m, 200m, 100m, shot put, long jump, high jump, and the realay for the 10 and 11-year-old girls. I enjoyed the relay the most because I like receiving the batten from the next person than running down to the finish line. I did it with 1. Jessie 2. Asha 3. Crysler and number 4. was me. Our team got 3rd place and we used resilience for not giving up even if we weren't winning but in the end we were all happy cause we got an iceblock stick to get more house points for Kapui.

Fingerprint dusting

What you need to do to lift your fingerprint off the window is rub your thumb in your hair to put a bit more oil in it, then place your thumb carefully on a clean bit of the window, then sprinkle a little bit of fingerprinting powder on your print then dust it, after cover it with clear tape and peel it off then put it stuck onto a black bit of tape. Then you will have some fingerprints

 These are my fingerprints for my rotations. We had to roll our fingers in inc but we had to make sure we rolled them away from our body cause it was the proper way to do it. we had a lot of fun doing it but my right thumb didn't work out so I had to re do it in the top left corner.

Letter of the week (M)

 

This is my letter of the week. The letter was M, the hardest part was trying to find a common noun until a marai, and the easiest bit was the sentence with as many words you can use starting with M.

Roll a story

 

This is my roll a story  It was fun we had to roll a dice to determine the thing that goes wrong, your main character, and your background. Mine was a posine tomato a grey bunny and a castle.

Cooking workshop Term 3

Cooking workshop Term 3 

This week I joined the cooking group and we made some vegetable soup.

On the 1st day, we had to go through some safety rules in the kitchen and what you should never do in the kitchen.

On the second day, we brought in lots of different vegetables for the soup and cut the vegetables up then put them into the pot and left to cook.

On the third day we got to all sit down in the staff room and eat the soup, I didn't really like the soup but I Said it was nice because I wanted more bread.

The part I liked the most was getting to sit down and eat some bread to get the soup flavor out of my mouth.

Letter of the week

 

 This is my letter of the week. My letter was G and I really enjoyed it. It was very easy because I knew exactly what to do and what everything meant.

Maths mystery.

 This is the maths runner race maths mystery sheet I did with Scarlett it was very tricky and we had to keep on double cheeking each clue like 5 times until we got it right. And then we finaly did get it right and our answer was Claire.

Cake maths mystery.

 This is my missing slice of cake maths mystery for my maths work with Jessie. It was very tricky and our answer was Henare Hokomoa. 

Epsom salt Crystals

 This is my Epsom salt crystals I made for workshop rotations and I did a dear and my name. My name was in blue which you can't really notice because it just blended in with the black paper.

We used 1 cup of Epsom salt and 1 cup of hot water then mixed them till it was all dissolved then got a paintbrush and painted it onto black paper.

 This is the Chapter Chat I did for this week and it was drawing a sock with Spongebob on it, but I decided to draw on a propper sock and this is what it turned out like. And I think it's like a Supernova

 This is the chapter chat I did for my workshops. I Had 3 days to finish it and had to research about Minnesota, from the book Wink and I made a poster with all the information on it I learnt from the book.

Maths investigation

Today I did my animals anticlockwise and clockwise for my maths investigation and finished them both and it was a bit tricky but it was cool cause it gives me a bit of a challenge.

T3 Art

 This is my art for T3 and I did the L and P logo for each square then colored them in, to make them all match and POP I had a lot of fun doing this and think it turned out to be a Supernova. And made good choices for myself to get it done.

Maths literacy work

 This is my maths literacy work I did with Shirley we had to figure out clue 1 to clue 2 on who was the thief on stealing the carrots from the old lady's backyard and ended up with Peter rabbit but we had a lot of fun doing this activity together.

Inquiry

 

This is my inquiry. It is about should animals be kept in zoos? my opinion was yes because zoos are good for the animals and their breeding programs along with the enjoyment for humans to look and learn about. For my inquiry and the research, I did with my learning constellation group I decided to put all that info and research onto my poster and I think it turned out Kia whakamataku (To be Awesome).

Cross Country 2020

 This year we couldn't go out to the south farms for Cross Country because of COVID 19 and we had to postpone it but we did Cross Country on the domain rail trail, I came 3rd and tried really hard even thoe my legs still hurt. I made it into Hauraki plains for the top 10.

Whetu Challenge

This is the Whetu challenge I did with my learning constellation group, In my learning constilation group there was Stephani, me, Ryan, Jessie and Logan for the Whetu challenge we had to recreate a cartoon show picture using google drawings and so we decided to do Peppa pig and it was really challenging but fun.

Whetu Challenge the Egg drop

This week for our Whetu Challenge we did the Egg Drop and I worked with Jessie, and madison we had a lot of fun building our creation. The best part was watching people drop their creations because if it made like a big CRASH everyone would go like OHHHHHH. And if we ever did this again I think we would have to make it more fluffy so the egg was more likely to not break.

My Term 2, 2020 Reflection

My Term 2, 2020 Reflection

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is, Maths mystery when I do it with a buddy cause then it makes it more fun and harder because you no then at the end you their celebrating with a friend and not alone.

Something that has challenged me this term has been the blog challenges because there always are quite hard and I tend to work a bit longer on it cause I hate the feeling of getting it wrong, so I always go over it a few more times but sometimes I spend too long on them.

The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the tennis ball challenge cause we had to build it the highest then make sure it can free stand while holding a tennis ball.

The opt-ins workshop I enjoyed the most was the bean growing and the fitness games because I liked shooting the hoops and running around the track, but I also liked growing the beans because I like the fact of them growing so tall and big.

An aim I have for my learning is a supernova in everything I do so then I keep improving every time.

EGG CARTON CREATION

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

I created a treasure chest with chocolate coins and scrunched up golden bits of paper,

and 2 mini jellyfishes.

I had so much fun doing this activity because I love crafting and making things like this.

But the painting was hard because we only had an hour to do this and we were struggling to get our paint to dry.

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.
Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be easy but hard at the same time because that was my first time making a paper plane by myself and I thought I went pretty well
I decided to use the design of WELCOME BACK TO LILY AIRLINES because I wanted it to be like a real airplane so that was also why I drew some windows with people inside it
The hardest part was not ripping the end of my paper plane crenciled otherwise it wasn't that acreit anymore
During our competition time, I managed to score 13 points but I didn't manage to get it into the mini hole 

Bean descovery

This week we did some discovery time and I worked with Jessie and Marley because in team whetu we have all been growing some dwarf french beans from one of our rotation work shops.

10 years older

This week we have been working on this task called 10 years older in the future. In another 10 years' time, that which will be 2030 I will be 21 years old and this is what I think I will look like who I will be friends with and my biggest achievements.

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge





Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws, and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).





Today I worked with Teana and Marley because I haven't worked with them in any learning this year.





The easiest thing was getting the photo cause we just had to smile while holding up our tennis ball paper tower.





The best part of our tower was how strong and tall it was because that





Our tower looked like the Eiffel tower because we had made it very tall and added a ball on top as well, cause we tried to make it a little bit bigger and similar





In the end, we won this challenge because we got the biggest tower at the height of 1.18m and we were very proud of it.

Maths mystery

Today I did the maths mystery with Marley because I don't usually work with her in-class time,  And we figured out the naughty gnome was Captain Steve.

Whetu Catapult Challenge

The things that I used to make my catapult were: 6 ice block sticks and to jumbo sticks with

giant rubber bands tied around it.

To make my catapult I worked with Candace because She wasn't in the same homeroom and I don't really know her as well as my other friends.

The most challenging part was getting our pom pom to go far because when everyone had finished we went out to the frontcourt and had a competition on who could shoot their catapult the firtherist and the highest because we couldn't get it to go too far.

Overall I think that was very fun but challenging cause we couldn't get the rubber band to stick with the sticks without using hot glue. But I was glad on my choice on who I picked to create the catapult with so we could actually get it done

Week 1 Reflection

Week 1 Reflection

What has been my highlight this week seeing my friends and being able to go and play tiggy manhunt with them at lunchtime because we couldn't play at home in lockdown cause there weren't enough people

What was I nervous about this week thinking that I hadn't done enough work or I had forgotten something at home.

For dress-up day I dressed up as Bodan baret cause he is my favorite All black and causes he's a great kicker.

The funniest thing has happened this week is coming back to school and seeing Mr. Frazer with crazy long white hair and with a beard.

I think the best-dressed person was Taylor K because I liked how she had just got stuck into it and was all dressed up like a little rockstar.

Today we had an offline Wednesday milk bottle creation day I made a cactus in a bottle.

The hardest part was planting the cactus because I had to transfer it from a pot to a ball.

The easiest part was cutting the milk bottle because it was a lot easier using a craft knife and that's what I used.

I enjoyed everything because I really enjoy doing that type of stuff and crafting.

After working thru all the clues I got left with 2 suspects.1 was Rudy George and the other was Stephen Gray, the only difference was was that one wore glasses and one didn't, and I think the suspect was wearing glasses, so I found the murderer was number 2, Rudy George because after breaking all the codes for the clues I was left with a Short Male with long dark hair who wore glasses.
